  SWIMMING POOL POLICIES

  Swim Passes are for the use of the purchaser only. Verification of family members for season passes may be required. Season

  passes are for recreational swimming at the two municipal outdoor pools only. Pools usually close in August, depending on

  available staff. All children seven (7) years of age or younger must be accompanied by an adult during recreational swimming.

  No refunds issued for season passes.

  PRE-SCHOOL SWIM at Byrnes Pool

  For a parent with a pre-school child Weekdays: 12:30-1:30 p.m. for $3.00.

  FAMILY SWIM

  All your immediate family members may swim at Gates Pool on Sundays from 1:30-5:00 p.m. and at Byrnes Pool on Sundays,

  6:00-8:00 p.m. for the bargain price of $7.00 for the entire family.

  POOL RENTALS

  Gates Pool may be rented for a special event or party. Rental fee includes exclusive use of the pool and waterslide, with  

  lifeguards on duty. Gates Pool may be rented Sat. & Sun. evenings, 6:15-8:15 p.m. and during the week by arrangement. Pool

  Rental Rates:100 Swimmers or Less-$175, 101 or more Swimmers-$200. Larger groups may call our Office to inquire about a

  fee.

  DAILY POOL ADMISSION RATES

  3 Years & Under: $0.50
  4 Years & Up: $3.00
  All patrons entering the pool must pay an admission fee regardless of intent to swim. All patrons must be wearing bathing

  apparel to be admitted for recreational swimming. KEY CARDS DO NOT APPLY TO DAILY POOL ADMISSIONS.

  SWIMMING INSTRUCTION

  Water safety begins with learning how to swim. Enrolling your child in classes is the first step in educating your child about the

  importance of learning to swim. Our classes are based on a program established by the Waterloo Leisure Services Staff.

  Cancellations: Cancellations for bad weather will be updated on our website on the Sports Page in the NEWS section.  If 

  internet access is not available you can call our cancellation line at 291-4493.

  Enrollment: Class size is limited in order to provide the best learning environment. Once a class is filled, no one else may

  enroll. Your name may be placed on a waiting list and if there is an opening, we will notify you. If there is a substantial number

  of students waiting for the same class, an attempt will be made to add another class.

FEE: $15 for Infant and Toddler Classes     $25 for Preschool Classes     $30 for all other classes

  SEASON POOL PASSES

  A season pass allows unlimited use of both Byrnes and Gates Pools during Public Swimming and Lap Swim during the 2008

  season. Passes are a plastic tag which must be sewn on the front of the swimsuit. Passes may be purchased only at the

  Leisure Services Office, 1101 Campbell Ave., 7:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m., weekdays, beginning April 1st.

  *Family Pass: For season pool pass purposes, we define a family as a father, mother, son or daughter relationship. To be

  included, children through the summer year of high school graduation. There will be an additional fee of $10.00 for every person

  over a family total of 5.

  Pool pass privileges for any or all family members may be revoked for providing false or misleading information regarding

  immediate family. Pool passes are non-transferable. Refunds will not be issued after opening day of the pools.

  SPECIAL DISCOUNT

  Purchase your 2008 family or individual season passes by April 30th and receive a discount of nearly 10%. This discount is not

  available for key card holders.
