Optimist Major League Baseball (6th - 8th Grade Boys)

Players from any city are welcome to participate. This program is designed for all interested players in the eligible grades. All new players to this league must attend the try-out session. All players participating in try-outs will be selected by a Major League team. Team practices typically begin in late April at either Danes or Tibbitts. League play begins May 24th. League play consists of approximately 25 games usually played on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, with occasional Monday evening games. A league tournament concludes the program on July 17th. Each player receives a full Major League replica uniform. Basic instruction on the fundamental skills of the game and sportsmanship is given through the course of the program by volunteer coaches.
