Optimist Major League Softball (6th-9th Grade Girls)(8th/9th graders only eligible if not participating on high school team)

Players from any city are welcome to participate. This program is designed for all interested players in the eligible grades. All new players to this league must attend the try-out session. All players participating in try-outs will be selected by a Major League team. Team practices typically begin in late April at Cedar River Youth Sports Complex or Summit. League play begins June 2nd. League play consists of approximately 25 games usually played on Monday and Wednesday evenings. A league tournament concludes the program on July 18th. Each player receives a full Major League replica uniform. Coaches will set individual team practices. Carpools will not be accommodated. Basic instruction on the fundamental skills of the game and sportsmanship is given through the course of the program by volunteer coaches.
