The program expands on the skills taught in the 1st and 2nd grade program. There is a greater emphasis on rules of the game and understanding the basic flow of a basketball game. The 8-week program is held on Saturday mornings beginning January 3, 2009.

5th & 6th Grades (Sponsored by: Waterloo Optimist Club)

This league is in association with the Junior NBA and Junior WNBA program. Participants will take part in a clinic and then be drafted onto a team for league and tournament play. This program will include basic fundamental instruction through team practices and league play with a heavy emphasis placed on sportsmanship. This league will conclude with a tournament and a league championship game. Referees and score-keepers will be used for games. Awards for 1st and 2nd place teams in both boys and girls divisions. Program runs January 5, 2009 - March 9, 2009 on Saturday afternoons and Monday evenings. Participants will receive a league schedule at the first team practice.

1st Meeting:
Participants' first meeting will be a tryout to evenly distribute the talent throughout the league teams. Carpools will not be accommodated as to assure talent level is evenly distributed.

Practice/Game Times:
Mondays: At Central or Lincoln Schools. Practice/Games will be between 6:00pm & 9:00pm
Saturdays: At Central. January: Practices between 4:00 & 7:00. February/March: Practice/Games begin at Noon.
