Young Arena Recreational Programming
Registration for recreational hockey programming will begin again in September 2008. Thank you to all of our participants for a wonderful recreational hockey season. We thank you for your interest in our programs and look forward to your participation next season.
Young Arena Monthly Activities Calendar Learn to Play Hockey (ages 4-6) (Printable Version) Session 1 October 7th thru November 18th Session 2 November 25th Thru January 13th Session 3 January 20th thru February 24th This program is intended to introduce young players to the basic fundamentals of hockey. We will teach stance, forward stride, edge control, how to stop, backwards stride, puck control, shooting, teamwork & having fun. Free Use Of Equipment- For all those who are 1st Time Participants of Young Arena’s 4-6 year old hockey program, included in the registration fee is access to a hockey equipment package. A limited number of equipment packages are available, so sign up early to reserve one for your child.
House League Hockey Pre-Season Clinic (ages 7-15) (Printable Version) October 7th thru November 18th This clinic is designed to prepare recreational hockey players (boys and girls) for the upcoming house league season and open hockey sessions. Players will be divided into groups depending on individual hockey ability and will move to different skill stations on the ice to work on improving their hockey skills.
Ice Stars Girls/Woman’s Hockey. (Ages 9-Adult) (Printable Version) October 8th thru March 29th Cost: $8.00 Per Session This program is designed for girls of all skill levels looking to actively participate in a team based recreational hockey program to improve their selves as hockey players.
Recreational CO-ED Hockey (ages 11-15) (Printable Version) October 8th thru March 17th Cost: $8.00 Drop-in This program allows boys and girls who are novice in ability with some hockey experience & skill to actively participate in a recreational hockey game to improve their skills against players of the same talent level. These games will be officiated and scored.
House League Hockey (ages 7-10) Sunday’s 3:30pm-4:30pm December 9, 16, 30 January 6, 13, 20, 27 February 3, 10, 17, 24 March 2
This 12-week league is designed to allow recreational hockey players (boys & girls) to participate in the sport of hockey. All players will receive equal ice time and there is NO BODY CHECKING allowed in Young Arena’s House League. All Games will be officiated and scored.
